The evolving Stonehenge Landscape
Object and Landscape
The stillness and calm of the studio created an illusion that time stands still, irrespective of our view point. By constructing a light portal within an artificial landscape, I took 20 second videos of the environment. The circular window showed perpetual movement, in contrast to the static paintings of the land.
Our perception of time change occurs when there is a physical change in the environment. Light and tone are signifiers of time change within the conceived space of stillness. This happens irrespective of our view point changing.
This experiment helped me to think reflectively about our rapport with a changing view, a static painting and the physical shifts we make when interacting with a visual experience.
